Delta D.E.A.R.S.

Soror Mary Newcomb-Ealy was initiated into Benton Harbor St. Joseph Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority on May 21, 1983.  She has held every officer position except President, Chaplin, and Corresponding Secretary.  Of all the positions Soror Newcomb-Ealy has held in the Chapter her favorite was Advisor, Del-Teens (now Delta Gems), our high school teen program.  The program works with young ladies in the community and their parents.  Many of them are members of the Sorority today. Soror Newcomb-Ealy enjoyed this role because she felt that she had an influence in molding them into young ladies, which was a pleasure for her.

Words of Wisdom from Soror Newcomb-Ealy are "If you don't like something, change it.  If you can't change it, change your attitude." by Maya Angelou

When Soror Newcomb-Ealy was asked to describe her Delta journey her response was "It has been very rewarding, the many wonderful sorors I have met and interacted with has been a great enlightenment.  Hats off to the sorors of Benton Harbor-St.Joseph Alumnae and the Kalamazoo Alumnae, (where) I was a member from 1991-1999!
